Patriot Pogs is a small, family run hobby breeder of African pygmy hedgehogs. Formerly known as Hedgeboken Hedgehogs, we are now located in Lunenburg, Massachusetts. Our goal is to raise happy, healthy and well socialized hedgehogs in a home environment. People are always welcome to make an appointment to come and meet our hedgehogs and/or choose their baby in person. Elana has an MSW in Social Work and Jason an MBA. This is a labour (yes I'm Canadian) of love for us.
I do not do "open houses" because of the kids, but I happily do individual/family educational sessions via appointment.
Now on Twitter - Follow us at Patriotpogs for updates on new litters born, babies ready to go, and the general insanity of being a hedgehog breeder and mom of two small and energetic boys.

Lots of babies in nest boxes of all colors. Pintos for sure and who knows what else. 12.23.2009
Our last customer for the year tonight, it just feels odd. Just a reminder to anyone buying an animal over the holidays. these are living, feeling creatures and deserve love and respect. Do your research, read the policies of whomever you get your new pet from and expect them to be followed.
Happy Holidays to all, no matter what tradition you follow!

We have 4 babies left and one uber pinto male teenager ready to go. In between chaos of packing and holidays I am available until the evening of the 23rd. Sorry but Jasmine has the last appt at 8 pm. Following that, I wont be available for visits until December 28 (so long as the weather holds). and all through that week. I have 2 babies in the nestbox and a few more moms ready to pop, but this is the leanest time of the year. Pics are updated but snowflakes change pretty darn quickly. Pics are an approximation of what is available and can change without notice.

Avoid the holiday rush and pick out your new friend now. We will also be driving to NJ this weekend and can bring pre-paid babies with us for friday pick ups. there is NO charge for this, but flexibility is required as it is a quasi work trip. If interested drop me and email and i will provide my cell number for follow up.

The show rocked, the hedgies won several ribbons and now its time to get back to work updating the website. Right nwo the internet is cooperating.

Several standard babies ready to go. Purchase any of these six babies before Nov 1st and receive a 25$discount on them. Also, one blazed faced with split nose pinto male ready to go as well as one very nice and friendly cinnacot uber pinto and one cinnacot pinto with a horseshoe pinto pattern. Very unique!
Due to wiring problems we have no home internet currently so I cannot upload baby pics but can take pictures via blackberry and send for individual requests. Comcast is hoping to get the work done in the nest couple of weeks *sigh*

Happy Labour day to all of you from the resident Canadian. There are badger striped females lurking in the back on nest boxes as well as a littler of apparently silver cinnacot snow babies.they are young and being hand supplemented but are expected to do well. The last litter continues the always elusive split faced pinto male. If people are going to want him as a breeder animal its separate paperwork and pricing than if someone decided they thought she was cute, and it is all at the owner's discretion These are not going to be typical pintos. Expect reversals of colors, par ti colored faces and all around cute., ,many will be held for breeding nay a few will be availabkw
7/20/2009
Babies will be .ready to go home in 7-10 days. The two split face pinto boys are sold, as is one wee dark pinto boy from girlfred. The computer and camera keep trying to fight me on the issue of pictures, but they are coming! One pinto girl, one very dark pinto boy and 2 dark standard boys. One lighter brown/cottie girl.
6/9/2009
I frequently get requests for rescue hedgies, and while those dont come along very often, we do occasionally have females who are retired from breeding available for adoption. They normally range in age from 1.5 to 2.5 years are in good health. If interested please complete the questionnaire. There is an adoption fee of 65$for these girls.
5/31/2009
3 dark males and one female with really cute dark faces are ready for deposit. If you are wanting a hedgehog with a really nice dark mask, these are the ones! These are the last babies available until the next group of girls delivers (June 17th approx) this batch should have standard pintos, snowflakes, cinnacots and possibly some uber or reverse pintos.
5/26/2009
Good news for our customers. Prices are changing. The changes are based on interest in and demand for certain colors. With Albino males ( when we have them) now only 150$and cinnacot males 170$, we hope that people who want a hedgehog as a pet but are watching their finances now have some options.
5/14/2009
We need to start charging for delivery. 15$for an hour of driving 23$for 1.5 hours and 30$for 2 hours of driving. This policy starts June 1st.
However, I'll be in the Manalapan, NJ area at the end of June for a family affair. I can bring paid hedgehogs with me, but the pick ups will need to be scheduled around my family stuff
5/7/09
We will be offering one of Penguin's new litter for sale. He is still too young for pictures but he is a cinnacot and already starting to show signs of snowflaking at less than 3 weeks old. Her babies are generally high white snowflakes and super friendly.
4/28/2009
Miracles do happen. The pictures of the babies are posted. The uber ( high white) pinto males did not come out as well as they should have. The flash messed it up. They were also put off by the flash, and it made them a bit shy. If there is a baby you are interested in and want to see more pics of, please just let me know.
4/27/09
pics should be up tomorrow! the babies dont love the flash though, so be warned
4/17/2009
For all of you that read this page and my silly updates, I promise to try to get baby pictures of Crayola's, Piper's ( who is fostering the one surviving Rogue baby) and Storm's. Penguin had 4 babies yesterday. Penguins babies generally are white by 6 months of age so if you have always wanted a high snow or white hedgehog, keep an eye to see if she has some boys that will be available
3/30/2009
Spring is here and so are the babies. Crayola has 6 high white pintos born last week, and Storm and Piper just had their babies today. Rogue should have her any minute now hopefully, and Penguin, Yuki and Dumbelina will be due soon. Lots of colors and all adorable. Pics will be posted once they are 3 weeks old.
Based on demand/sales, we will also try to make one trip to NJ per breeding cycle for those NJ/NY residents who wish to save the trip. The babies will be at a central location for pick up
For those CT or MA residents looking for a hedgehog from us, we will drive to a meeting point or deliver within 2 hours of our home.
1 hour drive is 15$
1.5 hour drive is 23$
2 hours is 30$
This covers the round trip cost of fuel
However we do recommend selecting your hedgehog in person if at all possible.
